National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on behalf of Chennai Ennore Port Road Company Ltd. (CEPRCL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of NHAI (hereinafter referred to as the Employer) invites technical and financial bids in separate sealed envelopes from Contractors to undertake Sea Protection Works along the Ennore Expressway in Chennai as detailed below :

2. The bid document may be purchased from the address of communication mentioned below w.e.f. 28.03.2002 between 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs on all working days on payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 25,000/- (US $ 550) (Indian Rupees Twenty Five Thousand) only in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of National Highways Authority of India on a Nationalised/Scheduled Bank payable at New Delhi. If document is desired by post, an additional sum of INR 500.00 (US $ 20) should be sent.

3. Bids duly completed must be delivered to the address given below on or before 1500 hrs on 13.05.2002. The technical bids will be opened on the same day at 1530 hrs at the address given below in the presence of the Bidder's representatives who choose to attend.

4.Bids must be accompanied by a security as mentioned in para 1 (INR 7,000000/-) in the form specified in the bidding document and shall have to be valid for forty five (45) days beyond the bid validity period.

5. A pre-bid meeting is proposed to be held on 18.04.2002 at 1100 hrs at the address given below. The issues/clarifications sought may be forwarded by 15.04.2002.

6. The bidders may note that the eligibility criteria to be satisfied is explained in bid document and also on NHAI's Website. The financial proposals of only those bidders, who satisfy the eligibility criteria, will be opened and considered for further financial evaluation.

7. NHAI will not be responsible for any delay, loss or non-receipt of bid document sent by post/courier.
