| *Without considering provisional sums items of works |
| 2. The proposed project besides widening of bituminous pavement including
construction/widening of the bridges and other cross drainage works provision
of One Rest Area under provisional sums-items of works exists and may
eventually form part of the main contract. The bidders shall be required
to bid competitively. |
| 3. The Contractors meeting the following criteria may apply: |
| a) The applicant should have an experience of highway projects for a
minimum period of five years as on 31.3.1999 and must have satisfactorily
completed during the last five years at least one road work of similar
nature invovling sizeable bituminous wsorks and having a magnitude of
Rs.800 lakhs (price updated @ 10% p.a. compoundable) or he should have
satisfactorily executed at least one work of similar nature and having
completed billing not less than Rs.800 lakhs. |
| b) the applicant should note have abandoned any National Highway work
nor any of his contract for National Highways should have been rescinded
during the last five years. He should not have been debarred from bidding
in the past. |
| c) The Technical proposal of the bidders must meet the minimum qualifying
criteria fixed by the Authority before their price bids are opened. |
| 4. The Joint Venture firms are disallowed to bid. |
| 5. Previous experience of working with modern road construction machinery
(minimum-Hot Mix Plant. Full Width Paver and Vibratory/Pneumatric Rollers.
Cranes etc.) and possession of the same is mandatory. |
| 6. Interested contractors may collect the documents in person or through
an authorised agent from Sh. M.P.S. Rana, Manager (East), from January
05, 2000 during working hours on payment of Rs. 25000/- (non-refundable)
in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of National Highways Authority
of India payable on any scheduled bank at Delhi/New Delhi. If the document
is desired by post an additional sum of Rs.1,000/- should be sent to meet
the cost of courier. NHAI will promptly dispatch the document by courier,
but under no circumstances it would be held responsible for late delivery
or loss of document so mailed. |

| 8.The completed bids in separate sealed covers duly filled up should
be submitted to Sh.Ashok Wasson, General Manager (East), on or before
15.00 hrs, January 31, 2000 clearly indicating name of work and type of
document enclosed. |
| 9. It is expected that award of work shall be made by March 2000. |
| 10. NHAI reserves the right to accept or rejectg any or all the bid proposals
without assigning any reason. |
