1. Sealed item rate bids are re-invited from experienced bidders on behalf of Chairman, National Highways Authority of India (hereinafter called the "Employer") for the works detailed in the table below:
Construction of New HT/LT Power lines, Transformer Centres, laying U.G. Cables and dismantling/removing of Old lines/TCs out of ROW along NH-4 from Km 75 to Km 235 in KPTCL Sub-Divisions in Karnataka State

2. The shifting of HT/LT electric lines involve erection of PCC/RCC poles, lattice structures, fixing of conductor lines, shifting and erecting sub-stations, laying of underground cables at crossing of National Highway or otherwise in the stretch mentioned above. The works also involve supplying, erection of new HT/LT electric lines including dismantling the existing lines and conveying the release material to the specified KPTCL stores.

3. All the works shall be carried out under the supervision of KPTCL authorities as per their specifications.

4. The bidder should be an Electrical Contractor holding a valid class-Ist licence issued by the Chief Electrical Inspector or equivalent authorities of any State Govt. and should
i) have a minimum average annual turn over of similar works executed in the Govt Deptts / Undertaking, Public organisations equivalent to 40% of the estimated cost during last five years.
ii) have successfully completed atleast one work in the Govt Deptt / Undertaking, Public Sector organsiation of similar nature amounting to 20% of the estimated cost during last five years.

5. Bid documents for the above works are open for inspection and may be obtained on payment of Rs 5000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) in the form of Demand Draft in favour of National Highways Authority of India, payable at Chitradurga from Manager (Tech), National Highways Authority of India, PIU at Vidyanagar Extension, Chitradurga-577 502 (Tel: 08194-21929) or any site office of NHAI at Tumkur (Tel: 0816-284704) , Davangere (Tel: 08192-33702) and Haveri (Tel: 08375-36174) in the state of Karnataka on any working day (during office hours) from 28.1.2002 to 28.2.2002.

6. The interested bidders may obtain the bid documents by post/courier upon written request accompanied by the document fee and additional sum of Rs 250/- postage or downloaded from NHAI's website: http://www.nhai.org. The applications submitting the down loaded version will have to pay the cost of bid document along with the application in the above manner. Any postal delay will not be the responsibility of NHAI.

7. The Deadline for submission of sealed Bid document is 1200 Hrs on 28.2.2002 at NHAI Head office, New Delhi at the address given below.

8. The tenders will be opened on the same day at 1500 Hrs or on subsequent office working day (in case of holiday on the day of submission) in the presence of the bidders or their authorised representatives who wish to be present. No conditional tenders will be accepted.

9. The NHAI reserves all the rights to reject any or all the Bids without assigning any reasons.
